Paleontologists for the day

In Room 7 we have been learning about dinosaurs.
We are very interested particularly in fossils.

The children became paleontologists for the day and went digging for dinosaur bones in the garden. Here are the steps we had to follow.

1. Find your coloured peg so you know where to dig.
2. Very carefully dig where the peg is.
3. Once your fossil is revealed brush it very gently with the paint brush to remove any dust and dirt.
4. Carefully pick up the fossil as it is very delicate.
5. Make a prediction about what dinosaur bones you think you have found.
6. Cover the dinosaur with special protection paper.
7. Carry the fossil back to the Room 7 museum.
8. Once at the museum study the fossil more to see what dinosaur bones you have found!

Worm Farm food scraps monitors

The children in Room 7 keep an eye out for what things go into our worms food scrap bin.

Coconut ice!

Hannah brought in some
coconut ice she had made.
She did a fantastic job writing
out all the instructions on how
she made it too. It was soooo
delicious we decided to describe
how it tasted in our writing.

More learning in Room 7!

More learning in Room 7!

Rosa did a self portrait of herself by following instructions in a shared book!

Following and writing instructions

We have been learning to
write and follow instructions.
One of our reading activities
was to read the instructions from one of our reading books and follow them to make a tasty hedgehog to eat. No is wasn't a real hedgehog!!!

Lily's leaving party

Room 7 was very sad to say goodbye to Lily. She is heading over to Abu Dharbi with her family as her dad has a new job. We had a good bye party, everyone bought in delicious food to share and Lily's mum Sally made her famous cupcakes for us all. Yummy!!!
