The mentos & coke explosion
Today we did the mentos and coke experiment. We had to observe the reaction between the coke and mentos and then we wrote instructions on how to carry this experiment out.
Look how high the coke exploded into the air. We then wondered afterwards what would happen if we dropped mentos into fanta, sprite or lift???....we are going to make a prediction then compare the results.
Observing like a scientist!
We have been learning about what it means to make a careful observation. Check out our amazing sketches with water colour paint on top. We observed really closely to see all of our leaves details.

Library days
This year instead of our whole class visiting the library, children will go over in their reading groups to swap their books and have a browse for 20 minutes once a week. Below are the days each reading group needs to remember their library bag or children can not get books out.

Welcome to Room 18 2013!!!
Hi there and very warm welcome to Room 18's blog. We have made a fantastic start to the new year. It was awesome fun last Friday dressing up as a scientist for scientist day! We did lots of wondering about how things work and have come up with some questions for things we want to know more about! Check out these pictures from the day!
